Dear Entrepreneurs,

We hereby inform you that starting from 1 February 2026, the Republic of Kazakhstan will introduce mandatory digital labeling of beer and beer beverages in stages.

In accordance with the established requirements:

• from 1 February 2026 (for products manufactured from this date), mandatory labeling of beer and beer beverages produced in kegs will be introduced;
• from 1 February 2026 (for products manufactured from this date), mandatory labeling of beer and beer beverages in bottles will be introduced;
• from 1 January 2027, mandatory labeling of beer and beer beverages in cans will be introduced, as well as full traceability of products, including the issuance and confirmation of товар transfer documents in the information system.

In this regard, all retail sellers of beer (shops, minimarkets, retail outlets, and public catering establishments) are required to register in advance in the Information System for Product Labeling and Traceability (IS MPT) at: https://tanba.markirovka.kz/

Product labeling is carried out using Data Matrix codes.

Please note that:

• the production and import of beer and beer beverages without identification means after 1 February 2026 will be prohibited;
• unlabeled beer and beer beverage stock produced before the introduction of mandatory labeling may be sold by market participants within 1 (one) calendar year.

Regulatory basis:

• Law of the Republic of Kazakhstan “On Regulation of Trading Activities”;
• Order of the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Kazakhstan approving the list of goods subject to mandatory labeling (beer and beer beverages).

What a retail seller needs to do:

1. Register in the IS MPT labeling system: https://tanba.markirovka.kz/.

2. Configure cash register equipment to work with labeled products.
3. Purchase a 2D scanner (alternatively, a web-based cash register that supports labeling).
4. Accept labeled goods with a Data Matrix code in the usual manner (goods transport notes, invoices, and other accompanying documents) without confirmation in IS MPT.
5. Ensure correct sale of labeled products: at checkout, the Data Matrix code must be scanned, after which the product is automatically withdrawn from circulation.

It is recommended to complete registration and prepare retail processes in advance to avoid sales suspension and the application of penalties.
