On April 1 of this year, the deadline for paying the transport tax from individuals for 2024 expires. In case of non–payment of tax on time, a penalty is charged for each day of delay, the Department of State Revenue in Almaty reports.
The amount of tax to be paid must be calculated independently using a calculator in the e-Salyq Azamat mobile application or on the website of the State Revenue Committee.
After March 15, car owners will receive a pre-calculated tax amount in the form of PUSH notifications in the applications of second-tier banks. You can also pay the tax using bank applications, as well as through Kazpost JSC.
According to the Department, by the end of 2024, 456 thousand people owned 764 thousand vehicles in Almaty. Compared to 2023, their number increased by 7%, and the total amount of the corresponding tax increased from 19.6 billion to 21.9 billion tenge.
What is the risk of non-payment?
In case of late payment of taxes, the tax authorities apply enforcement measures, namely, they send notices of tax arrears, issue tax orders for debt collection and send them to private bailiffs (CSIS) for enforcement.
In turn, bailiffs will apply measures against debtors, including the seizure of property and bank accounts, as well as restrictions on travel outside the country.
Also, debtors will not be able to receive banking services, open bank accounts, make transfers, apply for a loan, etc.
If you have any questions about the transport tax, please contact the State Revenue Department at your place of residence.
