On April 10, 2025, the Department of State Revenue for the city of Almaty, together with the Department of Economic Investigations, conducted verification activities, during which the facts of the wholesale sale of tobacco products without registration with the state revenue authorities were revealed. As a result, over 186 thousand packs of hookah tobacco worth more than 500 million tenge were described.

 

Such offenses entail administrative or criminal liability.

 

The Department of State Revenue for the city of Almaty urges citizens to be vigilant when purchasing tobacco products of questionable origin, as counterfeit products pose a serious threat to the health and life of consumers. Only through joint efforts can the shadow market be reduced and public health protected.
